English Breakfast with Amapelepele Spices

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 slices back bacon
  • 2 pork sausages (or boerewors for extra local flair)
  • ½ tomato, halved
  • ½ cup baked beans
  • ½ cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 slices bread (for toast or to fry)
  • 1 tsp Amapelepele Spice o Seasoning
  • 1 table spoon Amapelepele Smoked Paprika
  • 1 table spoon Cooking oil (plus a bit more for mushrooms or fried bread)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Optional: Add chopped fresh parsley for garnish

PREPARATION STEPS

Season the Sausages & Bacon
Rub the sausages and bacon lightly with Amapelepele Spice o Seasoning and a pinch of smoked paprika. Let them marinate while prepping the rest.

Grill the Tomato
Heat a pan over medium heat, add a touch of oil, and grill tomato halves cut-side down until softened and slightly charred. Sprinkle with a pinch of smoked paprika.

Cook the Sausages & Bacon
In the same pan, fry sausages until golden and cooked through (about 10-12 minutes). Add bacon in the last few minutes and crisp to your liking.

Sauté the Mushrooms
In a separate pan, add oil and mushrooms. Sprinkle with Amapelepele Spice o Seasoning and cook until golden and tender.

Warm the BeansSeason the Sausages & Bacon

Toast slices or fry them in a little bacon fat for extra indulgence.

Plate & Serve
Arrange everything beautifully on a plate. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot with strong coffee or your favourite local tea.
