Welcome to a Heartfelt Journey of Creative Wellness
The Visionboard & Pizza Experience: A Creative Wellness Journey
In early March, Prime Cut Creatives reached out to the Vooka team to be part of their Sacred Sundays Visionboard & Pizza gathering—a space where art, community, and wellness meet over hot slices of pizza and heartfelt conversation. Hosted at CurioCity Backpackers in Maboneng, the event promised silent reading warm-ups, reflective discussions and thought-provoking presentations before creativity took center stage. Mwari Pizza, known for their mission to “change the world one pizza at a time,” provided artisanal pizzas topped with garden-fresh spinach, vine-ripened tomato, and creamy mozzarella—all sourced locally in Johannesburg. Bosmont Community Green Project joined hands to weave environmental stewardship into every collage and conversation, sharing tips on upcycling materials and composting kitchen scraps.

At Prime Cut Creatives, they believe that tending to your creative spirit is just as important as caring for your body—and what better way to nourish both than with a shared afternoon of vision boarding and wood-fired pizza? In collaboration with Mwari Pizza’s farm-fresh ingredients and the inspiring Bosmont Comm-unity Projects, the Sacred Sundays Experience “Visionboard & Pizza” event became more than just a gathering—it was an invitation to pause, reflect, and plant the seeds of your dreams for 2025.
The Art of Creative Recovery – Unlocking Creative Recovery
Creative recovery harnesses art as a healing tool—through brushstrokes, collage, or verse, we process emotions that words alone can’t reach. Creative recovery is all about giving your mind the space to rest, play, and imagine. When we tap into simple artistic practices—cutting, pasting, doodling—we unlock insights that busy schedules often hide. Studies show that when we engage in creative expression, we boost resilience and community connection, finding new ways to rest and recharge. Participants at the “Visionboard & Pizza” event found that it wasn’t about perfection, but about permission: permission to dream, permission to explore, permission to reconnect with what truly lights them up.
“I hadn’t realized how much I needed just an afternoon of play until I saw my vision board take shape.” —Event attendee
Setting Meaningful, Mindful Goals
Gone are the days of hollow New Year’s resolutions. This year, we encouraged everyone to set goals that resonate with their values and spark genuine excitement. By slowing down and choosing words or images that inspire, you create a roadmap you’ll actually want to follow. Imagine checking in each month, not out of guilt, but out of curiosity: “How are these dreams unfolding in my life?”. Backed by research, mindful goal-setting—grounded in self-concordant aims and present-moment awareness—enhances motivation and helps us adjust plans without judgment
Embracing the Season of Growth
March holds profound significance in the Kemetic calendar, marking the beginning of the season of Peret, the time of emergence and growth. This period symbolizes the sprouting of seeds and the manifestation of intentions set during the inundation season. By aligning our goal-setting practices with this natural cycle, we tap into a rhythm that has guided communities for millennia.
Growing Green Habits Together
Bosmont Community Green Project reminded us that small eco-habits—like repurposing old magazines for mood boards or composting food scraps—can ripple into a healthier planet. One of the suggested methods of waste management was using Bokashi composting. Bokashi composting is an efficient, indoor-friendly method of recycling food waste through anaerobic fermentation. Originating in Japan, this technique uses a mix of beneficial microorganisms—typically in a bran-based inoculant—to ferment kitchen scraps, including items like meat and dairy that are often excluded from traditional composting. The process involves layering food waste with the inoculant in a sealed container, allowing it to ferment for about two weeks. The resulting pre-compost can then be buried in soil, where it breaks down further, enriching the soil with nutrients and beneficial microbes. Bokashi composting is praised for its speed, minimal odour, and ability to handle a wide range of food waste, making it an excellent option for urban dwellers and those seeking a sustainable waste management solution. BCGP also host circular-economy workshops, showing how community-led sustainability transforms neighbourhoods and nurtures holistic wellness, for people and planet alike.
The Perfect Pair: Pizza & Presence

As markers were exchanged for pizza cutters, Mwari Pizza’s commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients kept creativity—and energy—flowing. Their handcrafted dough and vibrant toppings aren’t just delicious; they remind us how simple, quality fuel supports both our bodies and our imaginations. Sharing slices around the table reminded us that nourishment isn’t just about food—it’s about connection. As we sliced our pizzas, we sliced through the noise of everyday life, savouring each moment in good company. Paired with Sacred Sundays’ welcoming, contemplative atmosphere, the event became a feast for all the senses—nurturing connections that span creativity, community, and wellness.
Cultivating Mindful Habits with Reading
To keep the creative spark alive beyond the event, we encouraged everyone to pick up a book for a few minutes each day. Reading mindfully—really savouring each sentence—can centre your thoughts and open doors to fresh ideas. We started our Sacred Sundays Experience with a silent reading session; reading mindfully shifts focus inward, fostering deeper presence and stress reduction by engaging concentration and slowing mental chatter. Studies reveal that just six minutes of focused reading lowers heart rate and muscle tension—making it as effective as other relaxation techniques. Integrating reading into daily routines also strengthens cognitive agility and fuels creative inspiration for vision-boarding sessions.
