Africa Day Concert Festival 2025: A Celebration of Unity, Rhythm & African Pride

This Saturday, Soweto will come alive with the sounds, colours, and spirit of Africa as the Africa Day Concert Festival 2025 takes center stage at the Morris Isaacson Centre for Music (MICM). Under the powerful theme “Africa Rise”, this year’s festival promises a vibrant celebration of African identity, creativity, and community.

A Star-Studded Line-Up

From legendary jazz icons to rising stars, the festival boasts a dynamic mix of live performances and DJ sets. Audiences can look forward to:

  • Live Acts: Khaya Mahlangu, Jack Lerole Jnr, Tubatsi Mpho Moloi, Thulani Shabangu, and more.
  • DJ Sets: Nicky B, Shamrock, Castro, and The Soulfulists will keep the energy high throughout the day.
  • Special Features: An indigenous music exhibition by Mpho Molikeng and collaborative performances with the University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra.

Vooka Breakfast Show Goes Live!

We’re thrilled to announce that the Vooka Breakfast Show will be live-streaming the entire event on Facebook! Expect exclusive artist interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and real-time audience reactions. Interviews will be conducted during DJ sets to avoid copyright issues, and we’ll be tagging all artists, MICM, and partners involved.

We’ll also be chatting with:

  • Members of the organizing committee
  • Event sponsors and partners (in-person or virtually via Microsoft Teams)
  • Festival-goers soaking up the vibes
