BREAKING NEWS: Gauteng Acting Premier Champions Health and Safety at #Randshow2025 and Operation Paseka

Ms. Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko MEC of Health and Wellness Gauteng

In a dynamic display of leadership and community engagement, Gauteng’s Acting Premier and MEC for Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, spearheaded two significant initiatives on Monday, April 21, 2025.

At the 2025 Rand Easter Show, held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, the Gauteng Department of Health’s exhibition earned the prestigious Best Stand Award among government departments. The pavilion offered a range of health services, including screenings for HIV, TB, hypertension, and diabetes; immunizations; family planning; and health education. Nkomo-Ralehoko emphasized the department’s commitment to bringing healthcare services directly to the community, stating, “We have intensified access to healthcare by not only rendering health services at traditional access points such as clinics and hospitals, but are going straight to spaces where communities gather to reduce the burden of disease.” Read More.

Later that day, the Acting Premier joined Operation Paseka, a high-density, multi-disciplinary operation aimed at ensuring the safety of travelers returning to Gauteng during the Easter period. Conducted in the Western Corridor, the operation involved interactions with road users to promote road safety and compliance. Nkomo-Ralehoko’s active participation underscored the province’s dedication to public safety during peak travel times. Watch Here: Acting Premier Interacts with Road Users During Operation Paseka
