Kaizer Chiefs beat Al Masry 2-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium to move top of Group D with 10 points. Flavio Silva opened the scoring from the penalty spot, before Abderrahim Deghmoum equalised. Aiden McCarthy quickly restored Chiefs’ lead, securing their third win in five games. Chiefs twice went close to extending the margin but missed chances, while goalkeeper Brandon Petersen made key saves. McCarthy’s yellow card suspension rules him out of the decisive clash against Zamalek on 15 February. ZESCO remain bottom with three points, while Stellenbosch lost 3-0 to Otoho d’Oyo in Group C.

The Blitzboks claimed their first title on Australian soil since 2017, beating Fiji 21-19 in the final after earlier defeating Australia 28-12 in the semifinals. Ryan Oosthuizen starred with two tries in the final, including the decisive score late on, while Sebastiaan Jobb added another. Ricardo Duarttee converted all three tries. Fiji had led briefly in the second half, but South Africa’s strong defence and clinical finishing sealed victory. Oosthuizen was named Player of the Final as the Blitzboks avenged recent losses to Fiji and capped a dominant weekend performance.
